This isn't going to be a very long, or informative post, but some of you may have noticed some of the recent changes made to Paw Print. I just wanted to post about them a bit, rather than just changing things up and not mentioning it at all.
Without going into too much detail, Google recently changed the way website search results are rated on mobile devices. Paw Print was founded in 2010, and since then hadn't undergone any major makeovers. While I thought the site looked fine on mobile, it turns out that Google didn't agree with me. I had to make it mobile friendly if I wanted it to continue showing up for searches made on mobile devices.
For a couple of months I used a plugin that made the website technically mobile friendly, although I didn't think it looked that amazing. The plugin wasn't amazing and came with its own problems, so I decided to do a slight site redesign, making it mobile friendly, rather than continue to fight with the plugin.
So anyone visiting on mobile might have noticed a couple of redesigns over the past couple of months. PC users should have just noticed the one update, which took place mid-May. There are still a few things on the site that I'm planning on changing, like the header colors on the sidebar, but it's mostly small stuff that won't really impact the overall feel of the site.
The Pet Forums remain the same, and luckily I like this new layout a lot more than I originally thought I would. I apologize for this post not really being about pets at all. But like I said (ah, typed) I didn't want to just change the whole layout of the site around and not mention it at all. Comment below! How do you like the new layout? Any recommendations for what I could do differently?
