Not So Photogenic

Tomorrow is my birthday.  I worked last weekend so that I could have an extra long weekend this week.  Who wants to work on their birthday?  But my birthday is Thursday, and I didn't really want to take Thursday off then work Friday - so a 4 day weekend it is!

I don't really have any specific plans.  I'd love to finish the book I've been reading, maybe schedule a few blog posts, spend time with the dogs, stuff like that.  I'm going to try to force myself to relax because I've been working a ton lately and could really use the break.

I'm mostly used to my new computer now.  I still have a lot of learning to do when it comes to some of my new software, the video editor especially.  Take yesterday, for example.  I tried to edit a pretty simple video of Aurora.  When I finished it turned out I did something wrong when I saved the video, and I somehow lost a big chunk of it.  It's not really any good, but this was what I was able to recover...

The video quality is so bad.  It's blurry and jumpy, and the whole end half of the video somehow went missing.  I decided rather than redoing the whole thing to just not stress about it.  I'll chalk it up as a learning experience and do better next time.

It doesn't help that the geckos are hard to film to begin with.  They are pretty chill creatures, which generally makes handling them easy but recording them boring.  I love having lots of pictures/videos of my pets, even when they are on the boring side.  Comment below!  What are some of the difficulties you've run into when trying to get good footage of your own pets?
