We've had Fenrir for just a bit over 2 years now! Although we celebrated his 2nd birthday on August 1st, he actually joined our pack on September 27th, 2015. I say stuff like this all the time, but it's crazy to me that two years have passed so quickly. In a way it feels like Fenrir has been a part of our family forever, but in other ways he still very much feels like the new kid on the block. Owning two dogs at once for the first time in my life has been an interesting experience with, if I'm honest, both pros and cons. I'll say up front though that I adore both my little boys and even though they can make life a bit crazy at times, I wouldn't trade them for the world. ...continue reading "Two Years of Having Two Dogs"
The "life" of lamb, or - the slow demise of a dog's favorite toy...
When I set out to start this post I wasn't aware of exactly how long ago the story had begun. Then, while searching for pictures of Fen with his favorite toy "lamb" on my Instagram page, I came across that picture to the left. I originally posted it back in November of 2015, which would make Fen around 3 months old in that picture. It's not the best picture, I admit, but you should be able to make out that fuzzy white toy Fen has with him. That is lamb in his prime. That is Fen's favorite toy. ...continue reading "The “Life” of Lamb"
I'm not sure whether there are really a lot of people interested in pet snails, or if my blog is one of just a few about keeping pet snails, but whatever the reason my snail posts have been getting a lot of views lately. Since you guys seem to want snails, I'll give you snails! ...continue reading "Snail Update 10/4/2017"
How do you properly say goodbye to a friend, a family member, who's been your companion for over a decade? How do you fit over 10 years of life, love, and memories into a single memorial? These are questions I've been struggling with since Barnaby passed away last month. ...continue reading "Barnaby’s Memorial Video"
Happy first day of fall! 🙂 Today's post is going to be a short one. I have a lot to do today, but I wanted to stop by to wish everyone a happy start to autumn and to show off a couple of pictures I took of the boys. ...continue reading "Happy Autumn!"
Today our beautiful leopard gecko Aurora turned 9 years old!
Since we lost Barnaby, Aurora is now officially our oldest pet. Unfortunately there's not really too much you can do to celebrate a little lizard's birthday, especially when the little lizard is already as spoiled as Aurora is. ...continue reading "Happy 9th Hatch Day, Aurora!"
I'm writing this post early Sunday morning. My fiance Chris and Kit are snuggled up sleeping. I'd love to still be in bed with them, but our younger dog, Fen, almost always wakes me up early. Even after two years with us, he doesn't seem to understand the differences between weekdays and weekends, nor the idea of sleeping in. I make the most of it. I don't always want to get up early, but I try to enjoy my morning walks with Fen and afterwords I usually get quite a bit done around the house before most people are even up. ...continue reading "Pets Can Be Inconvenient"
Once in awhile people ask me whether or not Kit and Fen get along. It used to happen more often, I suspect because recently I've been posting more pictures of the dogs together. They do get along very well! I've actually been quite happy because it seems that the longer we have Fen, the closer the boys get. ...continue reading "Playful Pups & Bath Day"
For our "not so wordless" Wednesday this week I wanted to feature our little Miyuki. It's been over a month now since I've shared new pictures/videos of the geckos. I have to admit that although I love the gecko girls, I don't usually find them to be the most interesting photo subjects. They're beautiful lizards, at least I think so, but they don't do much! ...continue reading "Gecko Meets Dragon"
