Last week we got to kick off the month of March with the latest Pooch Perks box!  The theme for March was "Welcome to the Circus", and an insert included inside the box gave tips for helping your dog become more active as the weather starts to get nicer.

Although, I have to say the weather where we live has been a bit bipolar.  We'll have one day of warm, sunny, 70*f weather and then a few days later the temperature will drop below freezing with snow flurries.  Of course we take advantage of the nice weather when we have it but when we don't, it's nice to have ways to entertain the dogs indoors.  If your dog likes toys and treats pet subscription boxes can be a fun way to help keep them entertained when the weather keeps you trapped in the house. ...continue reading "March 2017 Pooch Perks Review & Coupon Codes"

I had another post planned for today (our March Pooch Perks review) but then remembered that today is a very special day!  Today is the 8 year anniversary of the day that Chris and I brought Kitsune home.

We know Kitsune's birthday, it's December 26th, so normally celebrate his birthday rather than the day we brought him home.  But not doing much to celebrate doesn't mean that today isn't a really special day for me.  My life changed 8 years ago today. ...continue reading "Celebrating 8 Years of Kitsune"

Happy happy March!

It feels like it wasn't long ago at all that we were celebrating the winter holidays, and now we're already two months into the new year.  Crazies.

This is my first post from my new computer!  It took me a few days to get it set up so that I could start using it for work and to blog.  After using an old hand me down desktop computer for 8 (!) years it's pretty awesome to have something a bit more up to date. ...continue reading "Happy March!"

Obesity is a growing epidemic for pets. Even some well meaning owners allow their pets to become overweight. It can be hard to refuse giving your pet extra treats, and with today's hectic schedules it can sometimes be hard to give our pets the exercise they need. ...continue reading "How to Calculate Your Pets Caloric Needs"

I try not to be the type of person who wishes life away, but I have to say that I'm looking forward to the end of February.  After Valentine's Day, which was very low key for us this year, February isn't usually the most exciting of months.  Earlier this week we received our February Pet Treater box, which did help bring a bit of excitement to an otherwise laid back February day. ...continue reading "February 2017 Pet Treater Review & Coupon Codes"

Happy Wednesday!

This week's posts will likely be the last ones uploaded via my old desktop computer.  I've needed a new computer for awhile now, especially since I work so much on my computer.  For anyone who doesn't know already, I work from home.  My computer has been crashing a lot.  It's something I might have been able to fix by reformatting it, but I've been really wanting a laptop for awhile now.  My birthday is coming up in March, so for an early birthday present Chris bought me a new laptop! ...continue reading "New Computer"

Like with humans, the growing waist sizes of American pets is quickly becoming a national epidemic. A 2016 survey among American pet owners, conducted by the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, found that around 59% of cats and 54% of dogs are overweight or obese. ...continue reading "Obesity is a Growing Problem for Pets"

By now I assume everyone with a dog has already heard about the recent Evanger's recall.  For anyone who hasn't heard, perhaps those of you who don't have dogs or don't feed Evanger's/commercial dog foods, all this started back in January after one dog died and others became ill from consuming Evanger's Hunk of Beef canned food.  It was eventually determined that Evanger's canned food manufactured in June of 2016 tested positive for the euthanasia drug Pentobarbital. ...continue reading "My Thoughts on the Evanger’s Recall"

Until recently, I had never heard of the company PinchMe.  Basically they are a company that will send you a box full of free product samples in return for your honest feedback.  I'm the type of person, as I'm sure many of you are, who enjoys trying out new products - especially if I can try them for free!  A PinchMe rep recently reached out asking if we'd help promote their Puppy Palooza giveaway, which was how I originally heard about the company. ...continue reading "PinchMe Puppy Palooza"

Happy Valentine's Day!  While plenty of Americans will be out looking for love, those of us with dogs don't have far to go to find it.  Your dogs won't care if you forgot to get them Valentine's Day gifts - and who would make a better snuggle buddy than your dog?  He won't even make fun of you if you decide to spend the evening in your pajamas watching cheesy romance movies!  I almost never quote politicians, but in the words of George G. Vest, "The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog". ...continue reading "6 Signs Your Dog Loves You!"
