Happy Friday!  I hope everyone had an awesome week.  At the risk of sounding like an old person, how 'bout the weather we've been having lately?  I don't know about where you are, but where my pack lives it hasn't felt at all like October!  I remember when it sometimes used to snow in October.  A few days in the past week it's been so hot and humid where we are that I've put the AC on!  But October it is, we even received our October Mini Monthly Dog Box of Awesome last weekend! ...continue reading "October 2017 Mini Monthly Dog Box of Awesome Review & Pet Treater Giveaway"

The first picture I ever got of Kit & Fen snuggling together!

We've had Fenrir for just a bit over 2 years now!  Although we celebrated his 2nd birthday on August 1st, he actually joined our pack on September 27th, 2015.  I say stuff like this all the time, but it's crazy to me that two years have passed so quickly.  In a way it feels like Fenrir has been a part of our family forever, but in other ways he still very much feels like the new kid on the block.  Owning two dogs at once for the first time in my life has been an interesting experience with, if I'm honest, both pros and cons.  I'll say up front though that I adore both my little boys and even though they can make life a bit crazy at times, I wouldn't trade them for the world. ...continue reading "Two Years of Having Two Dogs"

The "life" of lamb, or - the slow demise of a dog's favorite toy...

When I set out to start this post I wasn't aware of exactly how long ago the story had begun.  Then, while searching for pictures of Fen with his favorite toy "lamb" on my Instagram page, I came across that picture to the left.  I originally posted it back in November of 2015, which would make Fen around 3 months old in that picture.  It's not the best picture, I admit, but you should be able to make out that fuzzy white toy Fen has with him.  That is lamb in his prime.  That is Fen's favorite toy. ...continue reading "The “Life” of Lamb"

I'm not sure whether there are really a lot of people interested in pet snails, or if my blog is one of just a few about keeping pet snails, but whatever the reason my snail posts have been getting a lot of views lately.  Since you guys seem to want snails, I'll give you snails! ...continue reading "Snail Update 10/4/2017"

There's been so many crazy natural disasters lately, my heart really goes out to those who have been affected.  Back in 2012 our areas was one of those that was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy.  We had to go a cold October/November week without gas and electricity, which was quite the experience.  At the time I had three Leopard Geckos that I had to worry about keeping warm without heat or electricity.  Many pet owners understand the importance of preparing for our more traditional pets, cats and dogs, in the event of an emergency, but during the recent bout of hurricanes I came across many reptile owners in particular who were unsure of how/what to prepare for their scaly friends. ...continue reading "Emergency Planning for Reptiles"

Happy Friday! 🙂  Here we are, at the end of another month.  I skipped doing my monthly pet favorites post last month, mostly because Barnaby passed away near the end of the month and then I took some time off from blogging.  To be honest, I didn't spend all that much money on my pets this September.  They didn't really need much, and I wanted to recover a bit financially after spending quite a bit on Barnaby's final expenses. ...continue reading "September 2017 Pet Favorites"

How do you properly say goodbye to a friend, a family member, who's been your companion for over a decade?  How do you fit over 10 years of life, love, and memories into a single memorial?  These are questions I've been struggling with since Barnaby passed away last month. ...continue reading "Barnaby’s Memorial Video"

I feel the need to apologize before getting into this review - I know I mentioned that our August Pet Treater review was going to be our last one.  Imagine my surprise when, unexpectedly, the September box showed up at my door.  While I work on figuring out what's going on with my subscription I figured since the Sept. box is here anyways, I might as well share what we got. ...continue reading "September 2017 Pet Treater Review & Coupon Codes"

Today our beautiful leopard gecko Aurora turned 9 years old!

Since we lost Barnaby, Aurora is now officially our oldest pet.  Unfortunately there's not really too much you can do to celebrate a little lizard's birthday, especially when the little lizard is already as spoiled as Aurora is. ...continue reading "Happy 9th Hatch Day, Aurora!"
