Tomorrow is my birthday.  I worked last weekend so that I could have an extra long weekend this week.  Who wants to work on their birthday?  But my birthday is Thursday, and I didn't really want to take Thursday off then work Friday - so a 4 day weekend it is! ...continue reading "Not So Photogenic"

Happy Valentine's Day!  While plenty of Americans will be out looking for love, those of us with dogs don't have far to go to find it.  Your dogs won't care if you forgot to get them Valentine's Day gifts - and who would make a better snuggle buddy than your dog?  He won't even make fun of you if you decide to spend the evening in your pajamas watching cheesy romance movies!  I almost never quote politicians, but in the words of George G. Vest, "The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog". ...continue reading "6 Signs Your Dog Loves You!"

Happy 2016!  I hope everyone had a fun and safe new year's eve, and that your 2017 is off to an awesome start.  The pack and I had a rather mellow new year's eve this year.  The dogs' dad and I stayed home and spent a majority of our night snuggled up with the dogs on the couch.  We made it past midnight without falling asleep, at least, although I can't say the same for Kit and Fen. ...continue reading "2016: Our Year in Review"

The amazing Mr.Kitsune is our Yuletide puppy.  He was born very early in the morning on December 26th, 2008.  Had he been born a few hours earlier, his birthday would have been on Christmas.  I've always liked that his birthday is the day after, though.  Christmas is fun, but it's always a bit sad when it's over.  Being able to look forward to celebrating Kit's birthday the day after softens the blow of having to wait another 365 days before Santa visits again. ...continue reading "Happy 8th Birthday, Kitsune"

My fiance and I celebrate Yule rather than the more common Christmas.  I don't want to give you all a history lesson here, but many of the traditions commonly associated with Christmas actually have their roots in ancient Nordic Yule celebrations.  To most people, our Yuletide celebrations probably don't seem all that different then your average Christmas.  I think one of the biggest differences is that instead of just being one day, Yule each year starts on the first day of winter and lasts 12 days - until the new year! ...continue reading "Happy Yule!"

So...this post is late.  About two weeks late!  I originally planned to have it posted around the first of the month, but boy has December been getting away from me!  If you found this post because you're in a similar situation, and have no idea how it's already the middle of December, than welcome!  If it makes anyone feel any better, I've still got quite a bit of holiday shopping to get done.  Thank dog for Amazon Prime! ...continue reading "Kitsune’s Holiday Dog Gift Guide"

I know Thanksgiving is a big holiday for some people.  My fiance and I don't generally make a big deal of it.  I have a lot to be thankful for, but I'm more of a give thanks everyday type of person.  I remember when I was a kid on Thanksgiving, my mom would ask us all to list a few things that we were thankful for.  Undoubtedly if asked, many of us would say that we're thankful for our pets!  They give us unconditional love and companionship and ask for little in return.  If someone asked your pet the same question what do you think he/she would say? ...continue reading "What Pets are Thankful For"
